FJ Families,
That is it! We are done with the 5th grade, and we did it VIRTUALLY. Let me tell you, that is a serious accomplishment. I feel particularly proud of our group because we really did foster some strong relationships. That is challenging to do through a computer, but we did it! We laughed. A LOT! We did experiments. We danced. A LOT! Just ask about all of the math movements. Madonna's vogue has nothing on our coordinate grid and line dances. Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and encouragement throughout this time. We did it together, and this year, much more than any other, we embodied the phrase "It takes a village." Also, a big thank you for your end of year gifts and expressions of gratitude. It means so much. Please know that once an FJ, forever an FJ. Really. I still speak with many of my past students. I love to get periodic emails from them. They can reach out if they need anything and we are always happy to help. See the reminders below for important end of year information. With SO MUCH LOVE, Ms. Ferguson MOVING ON CEREMONY PICTURES FOUND HERE. FJ Families,
SAVE THE DATE! 5/27 8:30a will be FJ Moving On Ceremony. Be watching for details. I hope you had a great week. We had a lot of time to do collaborative projects. Scholars reported having fun! Yes, "fun". That is pretty awesome because I tell them all the time that "we all win when we learn" and how we play "learning games, not winning games" but they rarely buy it:) We have a few weeks left to school, but as I've told our team, we keep on working until the end. Otherwise, as one scholar put it, "What is the point in staying in school if you don't do any learning?" I couldn't have said it better myself! This week is GMAS (Georgia Milestones) which means we are all hands on deck. Per FAVE communication, scholars will engage in asynchronous work. Mr. Johnson will provide scholars with various assignments to facilitate Exhibition, the 5th grade final IB research and presentation project. Should scholars finish their Exhibition assignment for the day, I have listed a number of math/science activities for them to complete. Please be watching your email for updates about end of year celebrations, testing, etc. Our room parent (my room parent from last year) Natalie Jo Williams will also be sending periodic updates. Please be sure to check them. Also remember to check Mr. Johnson's website for ELA/Social Studies news. Math:
